Buying or Selling a Home in the Community of Northgate

ng1.jpeg  ng2.jpeg   ng3.jpeg
The Northgate area is great for all kinds of households, but couples are the largest group. Families with children in the area tend to have 1 child at home, with a large percentage of young children.
The region around the mall obviously sees the most action, and with the addition of the new condo complex and movie theaters, the area has even more appeal to potential residents. Maple Leaf has a tight-knit community kind of feel, while North College Park is a little more laid back, what with all the students and all. Haller Lake sees its fair share of activity, especially along its border at Aurora Avenue. Pinehurst is probably the quietest of them all, particularly on the north end.
Overview:
Northgate is an attractive, family-friendly community in the eastern part of Brampton. It is bordered on the north by Bovaird Drive East, on the east by Torbram Road, on the south by Queen Street East, and on the west by Bramalea Road.
Northgate MLS listings feature well-maintained homes located on peaceful, tree-lined streets. There are plenty of parks near Northgate homes for sale, most notably Professor’s Lake Park, which features scenic lake views and a beach with a swimming area, as well as boat rentals and other activities. Other parks in the neighbourhood include Jefferson Park, Jordan Park, and Jayfield Park.
Northgate real estate is ideal for families, thanks to its many educational options, proximity to amenities such as shopping centres and recreation centres, and convenience for commuters.
Northgate real estate listings feature a wide variety of homes, most of which were built after the 1960s. There are bungalows, spacious two-story homes, townhouses, and condominiums available.
It’s hard to imagine the Northgate area as it once was—a bog, inhabited by Native Americans and farmed for cranberries and other wild foods. Settlements crept in as they often do, and now we have Interstate 5, North Seattle Community College, and the Northgate mall in place of the original habitat. The mall is its own kind of jungle, however. And apparently this was the country’s first shopping center to be called a “mall,” so we should all take a moment to thank this neighborhood for revolutionizing our collective retail experiences. More recently, new housing and commercial complexes have been built, while at the same time work has been done to preserve and protect Thornton Creek, which runs through the neighborhood.
Transportation:
Northgate homes for sale are located near both Highway 407 and Highway 410, which make the area particularly convenient for Toronto commuters. Other major roads that pass through the neighbourhood include Queen Street, which provides easy access to Downtown Brampton, as well as Williams Parkway and Bovaird Drive.
Public transportation from Brampton Transit and Zum is available in Northgate. The Bramalea GO Station (15 SB) is also nearby.
Shopping:
Just a few minutes south of Northgate is the Bramalea City Centre, one of Canada’s largest indoor shopping malls. This popular shopping destination features a wide variety of retailers for the whole family, including American Eagle, Gap, Forever 21, Target, Aéropostale, and many more.
Schools:
The large selection of elementary and secondary schools in Northgate makes it particularly attractive to families with children. Elementary schools in the vicinity include Goldcrest Public School (24 Goldcrest Road), Grenoble Public School (33 Greenbriar Road), and Jefferson Public School (48 Jefferson Road).
Chinguacousy Secondary School (1370 Williams Parkway) and North Peel Secondary School (1305 Williams Parkway) are just two of the secondary schooling options.
Activities and Attractions:
Just for a minute, let’s pretend the mall isn’t there (sad, I know). What would you do in Northgate if there were no Nordstrom or Target? Well, you could go golfing at the Jackson Park Golf Club. You could pick one of the many parks and hit up the swing sets or grassy knolls. You’re going to want to pop into holes-in-the-wall like Jebena Café, BurgerMaster, Gyro Hut, Bark! Espresso, or Boud’s Pinehurst Pub. Finally, book a spa day at one of the many salons—there are even some for dogs, too!
There are many ways to have fun outdoors in Northgate, thanks to its proximity to parks and recreation areas. At Professor’s Lake Recreation Centre, families can take part in water and beach activities such as boat rentals, fishing, swimming, beach volleyball, and a number of camps and classes.
Northgate also borders Chinguacousy Park, which is one of Brampton’s most popular and well-known parks. This picturesque, newly renovated park offers a host of activities including pony rides, a petting zoo, a skate park, strolls through gardens and greenhouses, and much more
